Dani & Rob // Engagement
Gorgeous couple, cute puppy, golden sunset... sessions like these are what make my heart happy! I have the honour of shooting Dani & Rob's wedding in just a few months time and we headed down to beautiful Bombo, near Kiama for our engagement session. Their sweet fur baby Oakley kiiiiiinda stole the show as you can see from the images below, but I mean.. look at the little guy. He's too cute!
This was actually the second engagement session I've held with Dani & Rob, as they entered a competition to win a free engagement session I ran many moons ago now and were the winners! So our first session was all about them and the love they have for each other, and in the very near future this session will be featured on the Australian wedding blog, Polka Dot Bride so keep your eyes peeled for that one! Oakley was only still a few weeks old at the time of our last session so we waited for him to have all the necessary vaccinations and grow a little more before setting the date for this one.
Dani and Rob are just two peas in a pod. With similar personalities of both such humble, loving and caring natures I just know that they'll have a lifetime of happiness in store for them.
Can't wait for the wedding!
Amy & Kyle - Engagement
There's just something so magical about watching the sun head behind the horizon to sign off for another day. Almost as magical as finding that someone who your heart just knows will be your forever.
Amy & Kyle are so well suited for each other! From our first meeting over coffee to discuss their upcoming wedding plans I could see the very strong and solid connection these two share.
With their August 2018 wedding fast approaching, we headed down to one of the Illawarra's best beaches for their sunset engagement session a few weeks ago. This week put out some of the best sunsets that we'd yet to have seen for Autumn and the day of our session the sky did not disappoint! Our session was full of fun and laughs, reflecting these qualities of their personalities and showing the bond that their hearts share.
Looking forward to their wedding at the end of August!
Hes & Styve // Married
Hes & Styve's wedding was held in Sydney's picturesque Centennial Park and it was such a gorgeous day! However, this was not the initial wedding they had planned.
Due to a recent medical battle, their initial large South Coast wedding plans were changed, to a more intimate and laid back wedding much closer to home. With this change of plans, it turned out that their new wedding was so much more suited to their personalities and much more them - which is what a wedding day should be all about!
Given the hard and testing few months they've had on top of the stress that comes with wedding planning, planning a whole new wedding in just a number of months, Hes's family and close friends all making the trip over to Australia from the UK, and just the absolute perfect day, there was a lot of emotion as these two beautiful people became husband and wife. With everything the past few months has been for this couple, it's a testament to the strength of their connection, and the love that they have for each other.
Thankyou Hes & Styve for inviting me to capture such a special day for both you, and your families!

Misty & Sam // Married
Well this day was a long time coming for Misty and Sam! These two lovebirds have been together since they were 16. They met at their best man, Ki's 17th birthday party. Fastforward 10 years, and Sam dropped the knee on Christmas Day, 2016. Placing a ribbon with the ring attached around their cat Slippers was the perfect proposal for Misty, instantly saying yes with her favourite things of Christmas, Sam & their cat altogether.
A Sydney couple, what better place in NSW than the beautiful Wollongong to say their vows. Their ceremony was held on the iconic Flagstaff Hill, with the reception followed at City Beach Function Centre.
Misty and Sam are such a beautiful couple. I got to know their personalities well in our engagement session held just months before, where I witnessed first hand how much they mean to each other. This followed throughout their wedding day, beginning with Misty's note to Sam the morning of, and Sam's gift of perfume with the handwritten tag "For My Wife", as well as his note on the bottom of her shoes.
I am a firm believer that you can tell a lot about a couple by their family and the company they keep - and with the warm hearts and larrikin nature of both their friends and family - this speaks mountains for their personalities. Misty and Sam are such a beautiful couple, and it was a pleasure to spend your day with you and capture your memories!

Bec & Chris // Married
An intimate wedding of just family and a few close friends was the perfect choice for Bec & Chris - a big wedding just wasn't them. Another thing that made their wedding uniquely theirs, that they included in their ceremony was a pledge by all attending guests that they were to celebrate and cheers with champagne with them as the reception kicked off!
When I asked Bec to describe their wedding in 3 words, she said small, intimate & romantic. These three words perfectly described their day! A few tears, a lot of laughs, and you can see from their guests faces, a lot of love and support for this beautiful couple.

Jess & Shannon // Married
Aussie girl meets Kiwi boy via Aussie sister via an online game!
Well, this is a super confusing way of how Jess & Shannon met! Fast forward two and a half years, a move to Australia from New Zealand for Shannon and a beautiful daughter who has just turned one... and they became Mr & Mrs on January 27th.
Shannon proposed in Manly Botanic Gardens on a bridge. A lot of nerves, tears and a YES! A year on from this special day, they were wed at Wollongong Botanic Gardens, and of course we had to utilize the symbolism of the Kawasaki Bridge given their proposal story!
Just like how they met, their wedding included a strong sense of family & love of their friends. In their ceremony they also included a balloon release, and a padlock ceremony with their daughter.

Margaret & Peter
It’s not very often that I shoot for myself (this is one of my New Years resolutions!). It’s also not very often I see my Grandparents who live 6 hours drive from me, in a town called Quirindi which is situated about 45 minutes south of Tamworth, NSW.
Between Christmas and New Year, you know the few days that most are still recovering from the aftermath of Christmas? Not me! I took the trip up to the Tamworth region to visit, and I thought I’d kick off this resolution early and capture them in their backyard garden, being one of their many pride and joys!
Growing up, my Grandma had 2 cats, both whom have since passed. Their current cat just kind of found them, and decided that she'd like to spend her time over at their place. It's crazy how animals can just have this sense of belonging about them, and just decide that they'd like to be here or like to be there - just find their own fit!
This was a very special session for me, and also one of the shortest I've ever captured. This entire series was shot over probably 10 minutes in their yard, in the warmth of the December Summer afternoon. But it's sessions like this that hone in to me on how and why capturing the people you love is so important. This year I aspire to shoot a lot more for myself, as it's images like these that just hold so much significance to myself and extended family - I feel like I was one of my clients receiving my images back when I finished processing this set!
Reagen & Mathew // Married
I love smaller weddings that are so heavily family focused. This was definitely one of those. Reagen and Mathew were married at Panorama House, surrounded by their closest family and friends - with the majority of attendees family. Reagen and Mat share the most adorable son, Finnick so they are their own little family also. I got to see the love and adoration not only do they have for each other and Finn, but for the concept of family as an entity when we held their engagement session months prior.
Now I've mentioned many times that it's the people who attend a wedding that to me not only make the day what it is, but shed so much more of a story into the couple and the other relationships they keep also.
I like to stand back and witness these moments. Usually I don't hear the words being said, just a far bystander capturing the hugs and reactions. But in the images I captured of Reagen's Grandfather just following the ceremony, I did overhear what he was saying as he congratulated both Reagen and Mathew individually, and it was the same few words to both:
"I couldn't be prouder to be here today, and I wish you both the very best in your future together".
A few simple words, but you can see from his face how genuine and incredibly heartfelt they were.
I try and quickly grab these moments around the ceremony and the reception, of guests as they witness the couple being wed, the hugs of congratulations following the ceremony, the little moments whenever they have a chance, and the goodbyes as guests leave the reception.
So many times I get by with a quick snap without guests even noticing, sometimes I'm caught and the hands go up to avoid capture. Years gone by, with future generations looking through their parents, grandparents, even great grandparents wedding photos, don't be remembered as the one hiding from the photos!
These moments to me, is what a wedding is all about!
Oh! And I love a couple that is up for an adventure! Reagen didn't wake on her wedding morning thinking she'd be bushwalking, in her wedding gown and stilettos but she did and totally rocked it! We travelled down the escarpment for their bridal portraits, to Austinmer and my gosh, we had some fun.
